The blade steel formula is an advanced, alloy composed of high-carbon steel and chromium plus other materials for the perfect balance of edge-holding ability and high-corrosion resistance. The blade steel is hardened to 58 HRC and sharpened at a low angle to a razor sharp edge. The slender 2.75mm blade slips through wood with minimal effort. Ergonomically, shaped wood handles connect to the blade "handlebar style" at a 45° degree angle. The wood handles are specially shaped to naturally fit hands for a comfortable grip ensuring control and comfort during long carving sessions. The handles are crafted from USA grown American White Oak and lightly finished with natural Tung oil. Unlike ordinary varnish used on others, Tung oil prevents skin blistering and discomfort. The wood handles are securely attached to the blade and feature stainless steel connector rings for strength, long-life, and comfort. Includes a reusable protective blade cover.
